Nikon AR-15 .223 Rifle Scopes

Nikon know their markets and saw the rise in popularity of the AR .223 rifle with civilian purchasers in the United States. They were aware that owners often wanted more range than a red dot sight could deliver. They also deduced that their US civilian market wanted a 1″ scope with measurements in yards calibrated for polymer-tipped 55 grain ammunition. They also knew US shooters wanted a good eye relief that remained constant throughout the magnification range and the choice of dialling-in or aiming off via a ladder reticle. The Nikon M-223 series offer all of these features in a package that is immensely strong, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof.

The 1-4X20 was intended to meet the needs of the three gun competitor, but has lots of other obvious uses. Every bit as fast as a reflex or red dot sight at 1X magnification, the Nikon M-223 1-4X20 has a proprietary ’Point Blank’ reticle intended for ultra fast engagement within the ‘point blank’ range of the .223 cartridge. This sight’s combination of magnification, optical clarity, light transmission and a huge ocular lens, mean you can identify and hit targets at ranges impossible with a red dot sight. Nikon make a dedicated one-piece mount for their scopes that will fit any MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail.

The Nikon M-223 2-8X32 is their general purpose model and has the same return to zero feature as the other scopes in the range. One option is the BDC model with its range calibrated circle and hash reticle. If you prefer to dial in, there is the Nikoplex reticle version with Rapid Action Turret Technology. This allows very smooth, repeatable dialing-in. The zoom feature on these scopes is also exceptionally smooth.

The Nikon M-223 3-12X42SF is the long range model, making the best of the capabilities of the .223 55 grain polymer bullet on varmints and predators. Both models use conveniently located side-parallax focus to deliver the optimum accuracy. The parallax adjustment is also very good for precise close range zeroing, enabling you to dial out the parallax error inherent at close ranges.
