How much is a pair of “SUPEP ANASTIGMAT” binoculars worth?

i was going through stuff in my attic and i found my grandpa’s footlocker from WWII and i found a pair of SUPEP ANASTIGMAT 7 X 50 binoculars in a leather case with velvet on the inside. i searched google, ebay, yahoo and can’t find a price on how much their worth( i really can’t find ANYTHING about them ). they also say “This instrument has coated optics. TAMAYA” so if you have any information about them please share!

I really can’t answer your question, but I will try to give you a little more to go on for your search. Tamaya has been a manufacturer of sextants, scopes and binoculars for some time. Maybe they only made the lenses, maybe they made the whole binocular. I am fairly certain Tamaya is the the manufacturer not SUPEP ANASTIGMAT . Reason being is SUPER ANASTIGMAT refers to the lenses and properties they have. I am guessing that part of the “R” in SUPER has wore off so it looks like a “P”. Just something else to consider, even though they were in a WW2 foot locker, I would be very surprised if they were actual issue during WW2. Reason being is there was a very strong anti-Japanese sentiment after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Could they be Japanese, maybe, but they probably wouldn’t have English on them. Could they be German, maybe, but then again you have English written on them and Japanese made lenses/binoculars. Again, all very unlikely. My guess, your grandpa acquired some binoculars sometime after the war and they wound up in his foot locker for whatever reason.
