Black Binocular

Black Binocular
Why can I only see through one side of the binoculars?

Ok so when I look through a pair of binoculars or anything that is similar to them. I can only see one side and the other side goes black, and this isn’t because the cover is on the lenses, but sometimes I can focus to see through both sides, but then everything doubles. So is this a problem with me? Or should I just ask my eye doctor?
No, I have horrible vision not a lazy eye, but I do wear contacts, and I have an astigmatism

This may depend on the quality of your binocular. I have used binos where I see double images and I think it is correlated with binocular type. I’d recommend taking a look at a different pair of binoculars. These vortex binoculars (http://www.yourbirdoasis.com/swdbk428.html) are at a modest price range and are excellent quality.
