Compact Rangefinder

What’s the best vintage compact 35mm camera?
My wife owns a new lomo diana camera, but wants something different and vintage (1970′s – 80′s) for christmas. It must be compact, simple mechanics (point and shoot, rangefinder), and fairly inexpensive. What’s the best bang for buck?
I shoot a Yashica Electro GSN, but she thinks it’s too bulky.
Get a rangefinder for her.
Leica rangefinders were the best ones but you can find models from Zeiss, Canon also that did a fairly good job. You can even find some Russian copies of Leica rangefinders too in second hand shops.
