Buying a new .308 rifle?

I am soon going to be buying new rifle for hunting and target shooting. (long range target shooting) I wanted to buy a rifle chambered for a .308 Winchester, that is very accurate up to about 1,000 yards. I plan to put a Zeiss Conquest Rapid-Z 1000 scope on it and a Harris 9′ to 13′ bipod. I was going to buy the Remington 700 VTR. Does anyone have a better suggestion? UNDER $900 PLEASE! Thanks for the help.
