Creek Blizzard

Creek Blizzard
Could Al Gore & Big Bang Scientist secretly reverse Global Warming?

With record cold weather sweeping our country, Snow Storms & Blizzards, Power outages & 20 degree temp. in Florida tonite. I live on Copper Creek in S.W. Va. & we have been in the single digits for several days. After hearing about the wierd things scientist can do now is it possible for them teamed up with Big Al to cause this cold weather?

No one can artificially affect the weather. It’s not possible. The weather is too big for anyone to do it because they want to – such as the stupid concept of forming a hurricane and hurling it at your enemies. Seriously, consider the energy involved in making weather, and then compare it with your biggest science-fiction nuclear weapon. Our bombs are pathetic, and those are the strongest things that we have at our disposal.

Now, before I continue, please accept that global warming is a confirmed fact, though greenhouse gas as its cause is still very much up for debate. I completely acknowledge the difference.

The term global warming doesn’t refer to warmer weather (although it will be slightly warmer), it refers to a warming of the earth’s atmospheric temperatures and the temperatures of the oceans. When the earth warms, weather doesn’t get warmer, it becomes unstable. When it’s cold in, let’s say, Houston, and people point out that “cold in Houston” and “global warming” don’t sound like they go together, these people are actually referring to a phenomenon that itself is caused by global warming: unstable, unpredictable and unlikely weather. It isn’t supposed to snow in Houston or in Las Vegas like it did last year. Hurricanes and tsunamis aren’t supposed to wipe out whole cities like Hurricane Katrina or the tsunami that rocked the Indian Ocean at the end of 2004. Ocean temperatures aren’t supposed to be as high as they are now, even when you take into account all of the non-global warming factors. Global warming causes temperatures in the atmosphere and the oceans to increase, which in turn causes ocean levels to rise and unstable weather patterns to emerge

For these reasons, I personally much prefer the term climate change to global warming. The temperatures that we experience aren’t rising, the temperatures of the oceans and atmosphere rise which causes climates to change entirely.

Also remember that climate and weather are different – one long scale, one short scale. Most of the time, people think of this as “I live in Arizona, so the climate is hot, but it was a little damp today,” or ‘I live in Seattle, and I’m sick of rain, so it was nice to see sunshine.” That’s absolutely correct. But climate and weather also cover longer distances of long scale and short scale. For instance, your normal warm climate of Florida can go through even years of “cold weather” on a larger scale.

In this sense the Little Ice Age of the 1920s was just weather compared to the general pleasant climate of the world.
