Digital weighing scale versus Analogue weighing scale?
I’m trying to shop around for a new weighing scale. I had an analogue scale that lasted about 15 years before the measuring plate finally cracked under pressure. Haha.
Anywho, I heard through the grapevine that a digital weighing scale is supposed to be more accurate versus an analogue weighing scale.
Is there truth behind this? And if so, why is it that professional athletes such as MMA fighters and boxers use analogue weighing scales instead of digital weighing scales during the weigh-in process if digital scales are considered the more accurate?
According to the first article below, digital have the slight advantage, as they don’t have parts that can wear out; however, for home use, where there aren’t that many people using the scale, it probably doesn’t matter a whole lot.

As for the boxing thing, I think it has to do with the scale being “certifiable” (see the ad in the second article). But that’s just a guess. Perhaps someone else knows more about this.
