Dual Hole

Can you help me figure myself out? Am I a good guy or an a**hole?

In general, I think I’m an exceptionally good guy. Like I’m very polite and everything. But once in a while, I get really crazy and violent. And I feel like the biggest a**hole and there’s no way of telling that I’m a good guy. So what exactly am I? And the problem is I don’t know how to be “medium” or normal. I know how to be a really good guy, where my parents/elders love me whereas the younger group think I’m a wimp or I can be an a**hole where adults dislike me and the younger people think I’ve got balls. Any advice on which way I should go since I don’t know how to go in between? By the way, I’m 18 years old and since childhood, I was like this. This dual personality thing. And some girls think I’m a fake, the usual stereotype thing that girls talk so much about these days.

If you fluctuate between extremes of personality, can’t you see why someone would think you’re fake? Especially if you’re putting across this macho image. First of all, if you get violent, you really need to get some anger management training. And it sounds also like you’re very concerned about how you’re coming off to both young people and old people, and perhaps the fluctuation in behaviors is a way of trying to please each group. You do need to find some middle ground where you are just being yourself and not trying to come off a certain way to elders or peers. And this is why girls think you’re fake: because you’re trying too hard to put forth an impression of being one way or another… and if they see ‘both sides’, they want to know what the real you is.
