Fore Grip
Would it be ok to shoot a Hungarian AMD65 without the fore pistal grip? Just with the metal hand guard?
My Hungarian AMD-65 is missing the fore pistal grip, would it be ok to shoot (about 400rds) just with the metal hand guard? Would the metal hand guard get too hot you cant touch it?
Thinking that you are asking about the Hungarian AK-47 variant, there were several made with the straight lower forearm w/o the vertical pistol type grip. If your lower forearm has been removed completely, the weapon can still be fired safely, but the barrel will become hot & uncomfortable after very few rounds, even to the extent of possibly causing burns. I would suggest replacing the lower forearm for safety’s sake. If it has been broken or lost, there are several sources for replacements, just run a web search for AMD65 parts (AK-47); most AK parts are interchangable from one model to another with little or no reworking. I have both Rumanian and Chinese variants, both of which have aftermarket composite furniture and other accessories on them.
