Why are 45 caliber pistol based on 1911 frame cost so much?

The cheapest one i have seen or read about is a little over thousand dollars. would like to buy one but not at those prices
i have looked at a lot of 45 caliber pistols and everyone i have looked at are thousand dollars or more some. of the companies pepole talked about i have never heard of and i went to a gun store they had a 45 for about six hunderd dollars but it was not on a 1911 frame.

I suppose it depends on where you are in the world. In the US, there are plenty of 1911 frames to be had for $500 or less. They’re a very popular design esp. in the US thanks to its heritage as an excellent pistol carried through several wars. If you want one at a much more reasonable price, look for the Springfield GI if you want an American-made one. Others include Rock Island Armory, Charles Daly, Norinco, Armscor, High Standard, Para-Ordnance, and lots of others. Some of those manufacturers are low quality, others are high, but they all make a 1911 in some style or another around $500 or so. Good luck!
