How can I fully understand what I’m reading?

When I read novels or stories I usually understand the overall story and the point being made, but not the significant details for a more in-depth understanding. I’ve read some study guide books on reading literature and I know what I’m supposed to look for but when I read on my own I still can’t get it. I like reading books and I would like to fully understand them does anybody know anything that could help?

I like reading books too, and I’m not sure if it helps. I don’t understand well in the past too, but since I like to read a lot I’ve looked for some ways to improve it. Finally I found some speed reading and comprehension course, and it helps my understanding a lot.

There are actually some techniques behind. However, it needs some practice (best with help of tools) to pick up those techniques. I’ll suggest you to look for some speed reading and comprehension course to learn with, it is the formal way to improve reading skills.

I can recommend the course I’ve used too. It has good user feedback and it is quite affordable. There is also a website telling how to get the most out of the course, and it guides me to choose the online version of the course. I put the links here for you to look into them yourself:
