Hornady Neck

bullet seating depth?

i am using i hornady lock-n-load o.a.l. guage when i used the modified case and bullet the push rod extended 1/2″ past the mouth of the case neck.i have done this several times with other rifles all got great results. the right case and bullt were used what could be wrong this is an old rifle got it from my brother
