Jet Blue Flight Attendant Quits Because Of Lousy Consumers

Career flight attendant Steven Slater had enough. An exceptional flight attendant for over two decades, a traveler thought it was satisfactory to abuse him for doing his job. The Jet Blue flight attendant stormed off, went on a tirade of his own over the intercom and then engaged the emergency chute and took off on foot down the tarmac. He has been charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief among other things.

That he had enough abuse is plane to see

Jet Blue Flight 1052 was arriving at JFK International Airport from Pittsburgh according to CNN. While the plane approached the terminal, a passenger stood to get his bag before it was safe, which Jet Blue flight attendant Steven Slater told him he could not do. Exactly what happened isn’t really known, but it is clear that Slater was struck by either the bag falling from the overhead bin or the passenger struck him. Instead of apologizing, the traveler swore at Slater. He took over the intercom, announced he was quitting and unleashed a barrage of profanity at the unruly cretin. He opened the emergency chute, and took some beer from the galley before exiting the plane. He was arrested at his home later.

Cabin had too much pressure

According to MSN, Steven Slater was rarely at home, even when he was not working. Slater was often flying to Thousand Oaks to take care of his dying mother, as outlined by his roommate, which Slater also did for his father. His mother was a career flight attendant also, as outlined by the New York Times. His father, formerly a pilot, had perished from Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

The consumer is not even close to always right

People in the service trades should be treated better than they are. The general public can be absolutely horrid, as anybody who has ever worked a day in their life within the service industry knows. It costs nothing to be polite and cooperative, even if mistakes do sometimes get made.
