Ingot Mold

what kind of release agent can i use to release tin lead alloy ingot from its mould?
The molten metal is poured at 500 degreesC. When it solidifies, the ingot sticks to the mould, which i suspect is due to mechanical keying or bonding, The inner surface of the mould is quite rough with presence of small holes. The bottom of the mould has words imprinted on it and a ridge in the middle which i suspects contribute to the problem. Is there any sort of release agent which does not react with the lead, tin copper alloy?(babbit) I am thinking of using whitewash, which is lime.and also carbon spray. I was hoping that the release agent could fill up all the holes in the mould thus ensuring that there is no mechanical keying between the ingot and the mould. Is there any sort of reccomendation? I cant use commercial release agent due to the fact that it might contaminate the alloy! Does Calcium carbonate reacts with molten copper, lead, tin ? is there any sort of carbon spray i can use’?
URGENT question, Thanks for any reccomendations!!
there is a graphite spray you can try called Sprayon. Dont know if it will take the heat. dont know how soluable graphite is in lead either

The 2006-2011 World Outlook for Industrial Permanent Metal Molds for Gravity Casting Excluding Ingot Molds $795.00 WHAT IS LATENT DEMAND AND THE P.I.E.?The concept of latent demand is rather subtle. The term latent typically refers to something that is dormant, not observable, or not yet realized. Demand is the notion of an economic quantity that a target population or market requires under different assumptions of price, quality, and distribution, among other factors. Latent demand, therefore, is commonly def… |
