Lee Powder

Lee Powder
can someone walk me thru the costs & supplies need to reload .500 S&W Mag?

I want to reload this caliber, but unsure what i need, i don’t want to buy something and find its the wrong thing to get, as none of it is returnable (obviously).

where is hte best place to get .500 S&W Mag brass? (I only have 22 right now)
the best & cheapest place to get .500 caliber bullets?
what kind of primer do i use, can i use the regular primers or must it be a magnum one?
anyone know if you need some special powder?
are there Lee dies for .500S&W mag? (single stage press)

anyone reload .500S&W Mag? how much does it cost to reload vs buy new ($4/rd)? how many rounds do you need to make before the equipment pays for itself?

-thanks. i love the caliber but $4/per round is way too much, if i can reload them cheap then i can shoot the caliber more often.

Look online.

There are books on how to get started and what you will need. The loads will be based off of the powder you use.

The majority of the cost of reloading is the cost of the bullet. Time is second, but if you consider it a hobby then your time is free.

I bought a Dillon 550 and it took about 2800 .40 rounds to pay for the reloader and one set of dies. It’s all based on your costs as to how long it takes to recover your costs.
