Both rifles are more than up to the task. I own a Tikka and a 700 and both are extremely accurate rifles. Which rifle do you feel fits you better? A firearm’s feel to a shooter reflects the fit of that firearm to the individual. The rifle that just seems to have everything in the right place when you shoulder it is the one for you.
Scopes by Simmons, Bushnell, Leupold, and Nikon have given me good service in many places under all sorts of weather. All will have a mil dot model or two. At least a 3X9 variable should do the trick. The more expensive scopes will be brighter at dawn and dusk. The real difference in a scope’s price is in the lenses. The cheaper models will work fine 90+% of the time however.
Don’t neglect ammo choice. All is not the same in this area. Federal, Winchester, Hornady, etc will have a better consistency overall.
Good luck, sounds like fun.
