What do I need to visit and enter a marine military base?

I know I need an ID and all, but what do I need as far as insurance goes. Does my name have to be on the insurance, or can I use some else’s car (which is insured in their name) and drive on base without that person in the car? Does my name have to be on the policy of the car I am driving? Or does the car just have to be insured in general?

You will need, a picture ID
Car registration
Proof of insurance

IE: just telling them, the guy who owns the car has insurance, will not work.

If you do not have an insurance card, then you may have to show them, the insurance policy of the owner of the car, to prove that other drivers are insured.
