What kind of adapter would I need to get a telephoto lens to mount my pentax k100?

The telephoto is also a pentax, but it has an extra part that will not allow it to screw into the lens mount.

The earlier Pentax lenses used an M42 screw mount. You should be looking for a Pentax PK-M42 Lens Adapter or some similar title. Try eBay or an online second hand dealer.

I cannot tell you what limitations you will have. Your manual should tell you what these are. Clearly don’t expect auto-focusing, but what else, don’t know.
