Mount Mnt

linux File permission for other user other than root?
I have added a a new hard disk with vfat formatted.
and the fstab is
———————————————————–
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 / ext3 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/hdb1 /mnt/hdb1 vfat defaults 1 1
————————————–
the new hardisk is mounted at /mnt/hdb1
I want other user can create new folders and files at this mount point.
Is there is any way to do it
try chmod -fR 777 /mnt/hdb1 (in root login)
777 is for read/write/execute permission for all users.
755 for read/execute permissions alone. Users can’t create directories.
