How do I mount an optic on an airsoft M24?

This gun will introduce me to airsoft.
The M28 has a Picatinny rail. Whats the difference between that and a Weaver rail (the kind M16′s and M4′s have)? From what I know (but i might be wrong), you mount optics on weaver rails. How do I change it?
Also, are 4x ACOG’s on airsoft sniper rifles a bad idea?

Picatinny and Weaver rails are almost the same. They should work for both.
4x is pretty good magnification. I’d go with the 3-9x though, because you can adjust the zoom although your eye relief will be a bit trickier and parralax error will be more likely.
