Do I need a weaver style mount for my 10/22?

I am going to purchase a 3-9 40mm NcStar scope for my Ruger 10/22. All that came with the rifle is a “scope base for a tip off mount”. Do I need to purchase a Weaver Mount to get this scope to fit onto my rifle?

No, that mount should accommodate both weaver and .22 dovetail rings (at least the current ones come with a Combination Scope Base Adapter as shown in the features list: http://www.ruger.com/products/1022Carbine/features.html ).
