What are the bumps on my cat’s neck?

My cat has little raised bumps on his neck in his throat area. He’s very long-haired, but is kept clean and brushed. At first I thought they were ticks, but they’re more like hard pimples. Has anyone else ever seen this?

It’s possible that they are pimples. My cat, Angelo, was just diagnosed with feline acne. Don’t laugh!!!! I have to clean his chin every day with a benozyl peroxide cream (vet prescribed – do NOT use Clearisil, etc) and when all the dirt and gunk comes away, you can see where the hair is missing and he actually has blackheads. According to the vet this is not uncommon, especially in older cats, or cats who eat out of plastic bowls. However, it can cause irritation and hair loss… I know Angelo isn’t too comfy with his issues so you should probably get your kitty to the vet.
