Omega Muzzleloader
Need advise for muzzleloader sabots and charges?
I have recently bought a T/C Omega. I read the manuel and feel confortable with using and cleaning it. I am not sure what sabots and charges to use. I am thinking Mag Sabots and Pyrodex pellets. But I would like to get some opinions. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I will be hunting whitetail deer.
I shoot a Thompson Center Encore so my pet load may differ a little. I use 2 – 50 grain Triple 7 pellets and a Hornady Lock and Load sabot. They can be purchased at most any gun store or even Wal-Mart, they come in different bullets weights. The weight that works for me is the 250 gr. The lock and load sabot has a plastic stem out of the bottom that goes through the hole in the 777 pellets thus holding the sabot, bullet and powder charge in one easy to manage piece.
I have shot several different combinations and this is the one that works for me for deer sized game.
However, as many of the earlier answers stated, the only way to know for sure what works for you in your gun is to try several different combinations and hit the shooting range.
