do cavalry soldiers in the army get pistols on missions?

my question is do cavalry scouts get sidearms as well as the rifles or are the sidearms just for officers?

pistols arent for any general class or grade most officers carry em medics are required to qualify with them MPs too so lots of people carry em im in a cavalry unit as artillery and i dont have one ill keep my M4 and 240B anyday
