Why can I see a profile/wall of people who are not my friends on Facebook?

I can see profiles/walls of friends of friends of people highlighted in blue. My friend cannot see any people who are not her friends. We know some of the same people.
You are missing the point. My friend & I know the same people. Neither of the people are our friends. I can see the profiles & she cannot.

Becasue there profile is set to having either friends of friends see the profile and/or the network is allowed to see the profile.
