Rail Adaptor

Rail Adaptor
I am buying this video card, will my power supply handle it?(and another question)?

heres the card im going to buy:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143149&cm_re=9800_GTX-_-14-143-149-_-Product

heres my power supply i have:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817709011

the card requires atleast 26 amps on the 12v rail combined, my psu, combined, has 25.8 amps output on the 12v rail….. do you guys think 0.2 amps will do any signifigant harm? I do not plan on overclocking this and i am going to dedicate an older powersupply for my fans and such (i have alot).

so what do you think?

2nd question:

i have a 10v power adaptor and a 9v one, could i hook these both together to hook up to my bass speaker which needs 19v??? i know amperage comes in the play, i added both adaptors up and the amps come in at about 0.7 amps under…. would this work?

Sorry, but your video card will NOT work with that power supply.

Look at the specs on your video card: “Two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors -or- One 6-pin PCI Express and two 4-pin peripheral supplementary power connectors”

The specs on the Power Supply clearly state that it does NOT have a PCI Express power connector. Furthermore, the reviews for this power supply are less-than good, anyway. I doubt that it produces its rated power for more than a second or two. But all this is moot. It won’t work.

You need to look for a power supply that has at least one, preferably two, PCI Express power connectors. Bad News: you ain’t gonna get one for twenty bucks!!

I’ll give you my recommendation for a power supply that will do the trick and last through several upgrades in the space below. Get a good one and you won’t always have to be replacing it! I know that this probably costs too much, but you can see what a really good power supply has.

BTW, you may or may not be able to run your fans off of a spare power supply. They need a certain load to be able to start up. Try it first if you really want to do this.
