New laptop only supports up to 3GB in RAM?

Hi, I just bought a new laptop, a PRIME Albireo JS, it supposedly came with 2 RAM memories of 2GB each, however in the System Properties window, it says it has 2.99GB of RAM, using SIW (System Information for Windows), I confirmed that both slots have a 2GB memory, but on the System Summary on Physical Memory it reads “3064 MB Total, 2606 MB Free”.

No. It is to do with the RAM limits of a 32-bit operating system such as Windows. You can only get more than 3GB of RAM if you have a 64-bit copy of Windows. I would contact the manufacturer and demand that you get a 64-bit copy of Windows since you just purchased it.
