How do I connect a red, green and blue component to a red, yellow and white ?

I have a projector it has the red,white and yellow components on it ! I have connection to a lab top and the video connection has a female components with the red, green and blue component. Every connection I try does not work ! How do I get it to work ? Like what color goes with which ?

Component cable is strictly for video only, the color red, green and blue are the primary color for a tv. The composite cable is the yellow (for video) and the red and white for the left and right audio. Projectors do not have any audio inputs, it is strictly for video. Some projectors have other video inputs to it, in this case input for computer is the VGA. Check your computer also for any other video output. You can also look on the owners manual of the projector and the computer. Hope this will help you out.
