Redding Competition
Who do you like better as the fifth man?
Tim Redding, Freddy Garcia, or Pedro Martinez?
Personally out of the three, I would rather have it as a spring training competition between Pedro Martinez and Freddy Garcia and whoever wins goes in the rotation and whoever loses goes in the bullpen.
I like Pedro Martinez. He has had some injury problems the last two years but he is still 1 of only 3 guys to win a Cy Young Award in both leagues. I think he has a little left in the tank. Tim Redding had a decent at best year last year, and Freddy Garcia hasn’t had a good year in a while. I’m not a Mets fan but I would want Pedro.
