Precision Sniper Stocks For The G3, FAL And M-16

In the PRS Magpul brought target rifle adjustment to the world of military AR derived rifles. It’s strength has been proven in protected combat operations with US forces. The adjustment knobs are machined from aluminium with phosphated alloy steel shafts. The LOP can be shortened by 0.25″ or lengthened by 0.75″ compared to a standard A2 fixed stock. Comb height can be adjusted 0.75″ and there is a fore and aft adjustment of cheek weld of 0.65″ via allen bolts. A positive locking detent mechanism prevents the 0.026″ click adjustments from moving inadvertently. An enhanced strength butt plate withstands impacts and is rated up to 0.50″ BMG. Slippage is prevented by a soft rubber butt plate, a longer enhanced version of which can be purchased. At the front of the stock is a 1.25″ sling loop that can be switched to the other side. A reversible QD swivel (push button type) mount is mounted in the middle of the stock. The Magpul PRS stock has improved from previous versions in having a cover at the bottom that slips off to reveal a Picatinny accessory rail which can be used to mount a monopod or sling swivel. PRS stocks for the AR-15 are available in black, OD green, foliage green and dark earth. The PRS stock mounts to the rifle receiver extension tube without the A2 spacer – this is not included with the stock. For .308 ARs a special version is made to address charging handle clearance. This is currently only available in black. AR specific stocks can be converted to .308 configuration with help from Magpul.

Magpul were keen to roll their technology out to users of other battle rifles. As a result FAL and G3 versions are now available. The FAL version only fits fixed stock metric rifles and will not fit folding stock paratrooper variants or any of the inch pattern British Commonwealth FALs.  No bottom accessory rail is included. As with the PRS the Magpul FAL stock offers the feel of a true target rifle stock in a package which can endure the rigors of protracted military operations. The stock can extend the LOP of a factory FAL by around 1.25″. It also adds weight to the front heavy FN FAL rifle. A difference from the AR version is that the sling loop is vertical and positioned near the buttplate.

The G3 version of the PRS2 has an interface to fit the G3 series of rifles. It also helps with balance of the otherwise nose heavy HK. The HK-91, HK-93, HK-33, PTR-91 and SL-9 rifles are also suitable for this stock. Use on the CETME requires some gunsmithing. The Magpul G3 stock does not work with the HK heavy buffer. The PRS2 standard and optional extended butt pads differ from those used on the PRS.
