should i use a wrench on the focus lock on my scope?

i have a bushnell sharpshooter 3-9×40 scope and im pretty sure it has fast focus, but the eyepiece will not move freely. im know i have to loosen the locking ring but i cant do it by hand. should i use a wrench or does it even have fast focus, but im pretty sure it does because i can see the threads where it should turn.

Yeah, I wouldn’t use a wrench – a scope is a precision instrument, and a wrench will let you leverage enough torque to break it. I’d go with what Mr. Wolf said.
