Are AR-15 parts compatible between manufacturers?

I’m planing on building my a new AR-15 ground up, and i had a general question.

I build match AR’s.

99.99% of all AR-15 are intechangeble. That .01% problem is from early Colt rifles that had a different size pin used to hold the upper to the lower. All the uppes and lowers made today will interchange – it’s just those old Colts you need to be careful about. If you look through the Bushmaster online catalog you will see an adapter pin for large hole to small hole lowers and uppers that solves this problem when it comes up.

AR15.com does not allow annonomous email. You need to use a real email from the folks who provide your internet service or an email from a company or firm’s web site. They do this to prevent ‘posers’ and anti-gun @ssholes from causing trouble.

One last thing. When you buy a rifle from Bushmaster – it has been assembled by an apprentice with 4-6 years experience who tunes the trigger in a special jig and is final checked by a master gunsmith. You cannot just slap one together and expect it to shoot like a service match rifle……. not without the right tools, training, manuals, and most important – a service match rifle to compair against.

If you do decide to attampt this – be sure to find someone local first who builds black rifles to check your work. Or, at least let them do the trigger job. If you do not have the Brownell’s trigger jig to put an AR together – your gun is always gonna shoot like crap.
