How can I become a Police Swat Sniper?

I am 18 right now but when I turn 21 I will beable to become a police officer. I want to join the swat team but I still have acouple of years to train. I need to know if there are any training methods that I can follow that would make me into a good police officer and a swat sniper. I have a real good aim with high powered rifles and shotguns and I am in decent phyiscal condition.

Best advice is to go into the military and train in the Sniper or Scout/Sniper programs. Get the basics and have the military certifications behind you. Once your hitch is over, you can test and join a police department.

Keep in mind that you don’t “become a sniper” simply because you can shoot relatively well. You will do at least 5 years on the job, during which you will be monitored for job performance and attitude. Get a good arrest record going. Show the willingness to go the extra mile on a daily basis. Any SWAT/TRT/SRT/DCT personnel is about team work. Hot shots and superstars are usually not accepted because they will cause too much damage versus covering everyone else’s backs.

I am not saying you should not try for it. I am simply saying that is hard work with a highly self motivated discipline and great attitude.
