Tactical Riflescope

Any Mil-dot Shooter in here?

I bought a tactical mildot riflescope by barska for 7 mag.So do you recommend mil-holds with the help of mildot master calculator for long range hunting/Target or start clicking the turrets for necessary corrections and if i’m not confusing you more,can i combine the
mil-hold and turret clicks for extreme range shooting let’s say if my remaining clicks or mil-holds is not sufficient to reach that mentioned distance condition?(just a curiosity)

Using my nightforce or leupolds, I dial in for my shots… but before you do you need to test your scope to make sure it can do this. First thing you will have to do is shoot a box test, this will verify your scopes adjustments and consistency/repeatability. If your scope passes this test your good to go for dialing in adjustments.

If it does not pass you are going to have to zero and then hold over or under depending on where you zeroed. Your dealing with a second focal plane reticle which will complicate things if you don’t shoot on the power the scope’s mil-dot is calibrated at (which for most scopes will be at or near the highest power setting) or at a different power setting than where you verified your hold points.
