Trijicon Sights For Military, Hunting And Competitive Use

The British Army wanted an optical slighting solution for their new LMT L129A1 Sharpshooter rifles and turned to Trijicon for a solution. The ACOG 6X48 was revised to include an MIL-STD 1913 rail over its objective lens housing. For close range back up the British Army specified a Trijicon RMR red dot sight. The Trijicon TA648 6X48 magnifying reflex sight comes with reticles calibrated for either .50 BMG, 7.62X51 mm M80, 5.56X45 mm M855 ammunition. The 7.62 version is calibrated to 1200 meters and the 5.56 to 800 meters. The aiming chevron comes in green, amber and red. There is also a horseshoe and dot reticle option for the 7.62. The TA75 mount clamps the sight rigidly to the Picatinny rail, enabling return to repeat zero. This is an immensely rugged sight. The TA648 is rated down to 100 meters for those who habitually exceed recreational dive limits with their rifles. As with other ACOGs both fiber-optic and tritium illumination are provided meaning there are no electronics to fail at a critical moment.

The Trijicon Accupoint range are manufactured with the rather less demanding needs of sportsmen in mind. The Trijicon TR24 Trijicon Accupoint 1-4X24 is designed specifically for three gun competitions and other action disciplines and for big game hunting. For three gun, this compact 30 mm scope comes with a post reticle with either a red, amber or green illuminated triangle at the top. For big game hunting there is the option of a German No. 4 reticle which consists of a horizontal cross bar and post with a colored dot in the middle. This scope has a constant 3.2″ eye relief meaning you don’t have to change shooting position when you crank up the magnification.

The Accupoint TR21 is a less highly specified option, doing away with the perfect unitary power and constant eye relief and employing a non parallel 1″ tube. It offers a slightly shorter, lighter option for action shooting or hunting. The scopes use traditional one quarter inch clicks and are waterproof down to ten meters which is deeper than most hunters ever take their rifles.
