threads on a gun info??????

well i am looking to buy my brother a troy industries muzzle break but i don’t know what size threads his .223 c93 sporter might have can you guys give me a hand

99.99% of all 223 barrel threads are 1/2″-28TPI. That is half inch with 28 threads per inch.

The easiest way to verify this – would be to bring the rifle into any gunsmith – one quick look and he’d tell ya. Or go buy a 1/2-28tp nut from the hardware store and verify it fits.

You can also put a micrometer on it, and, then use a ‘thread gauge’ to measure the threads.

Or you can take the flash suppressor off and bring that into the hardware store and find out what size screw fits it. Or take it to a gunshop. A machine shop can tell you what size it is too – if you ask real polite like. (send your pretty girl friend in with the thing into the machine shop – I am sure they wold do it for her!)
