Weaver Bases
new rifle, i need bases and rings.?
hi all,
i have just purchased a new rifle this week but i need bases and rings to mount a scope on. it is a savage 11fl .308. it has an internal box mag so i would like something a bit tall so i have enough room to load the rifle. so what should i look for? there are so many different options.
there like dove tail and weaver style and all kinds of stuff. what should i look for and stay away from? im not looking to spend the most money i can but not get the cheapest ones i can. i was something in the middle. i will mostly be using it for target shooting out to 300 yards but mostly 100. and some PA deer hunting.
if you can give me some to look for and such.

yeah i was thinking 2 piece, and i dont really want see-through cause i dont have iron sights.
ok thanks for the info. and yeah i guess im having difficulties loading it cause im just not used to it at all, and i dont have big hands at all. lol
I have found that Leupold bases and rings are the best value and are rock solid. They come in mid and high height rings too.

I would suggest the 2 piece base to give you best access to the receiver and bolt .
