Zero Stop
In the future, when the universe goes through “heat death” achieving absolute zero, Will time stop?
On a quantum scale, time only progresses due to collapses of quantum wave functions. When the universe naturally achieves absolute zero, and all the subatomic particles stop moving, Will time actually stop?
I don’t know if it would, because what about virtual particles and higgs field? Could those things save time or what?
Also, even if virtual particles continue time, wouldn’t dark energy eventually split virtual particles and bosons in half, the moment they appear?
Absolute zero is not achievable because it would violate Heisenberg Uncertainty. One leading hypothesis is that as the universe continues to expand and the density of space/time gets close enough to zero and you’ve waited a long enough time, then the universe will spontaneously fluctuate (form a logical 1) and you’ll have another big bang. Kind of like a bubble bursting when it gets stretched thin enough but there’s another bubble inside the bubble, and so on, and so on, and so on.
